#bookreview – A Year of Being Single by Fiona Collins

Three friends. One year. Absolutely no men…

Imogen is supposed to be on the most romantic weekend of her life and instead she’s quickly realised that her current boyfriend definitely isn’t ‘The One’ and actually One Big Mistake.

Frankie is fed up. Fed up of her good-for-nothing husband and her four, unappreciative children. Well, they hardly notice her anyway, maybe it’s time to shake it up a little…

Grace thought she had the perfect life. Gorgeous little boy and perfect, hardworking husband. Or rather, she did, until she realised her husband was shagging his ‘work’.These single ladies don’t need to put a ring on it…right?

EDIE Review

I really enjoy reading stories about groups of friends so this book definitely delivered for me. I also like books that I can easily read without having to try too hard, books I can just devour and enjoy.

This story was a lovely easy read about three friends who decide to make a pact after some bad relationships. It was a little frustrating at times when the friends were going behind each others backs because I feel this impacted the strength of their friendship which did actually affect my commitment to the characters. However it did make the story interesting and create some much needed conflict to the storyline.

I loved the ending and how the story came together and there were a few surprises thrown in too which I like.

Overall an enjoyable read!
